Who is this figure?
As you probably know, I love strolling and taking photos in Bordeaux… Keeping my eyes open to catch the moment… Today I take you to the Jardin Public to discover the statue of Rosa Bonheur.
Marie-Rosalie Bonheur, known as Rosa Bonheur, is a French painter and sculptor specialised in depicting animals. As a side note, she was the first woman awarded the Légion d'honneur in 1865.
This statue has been fully restored thanks to a public programme for restoring three statues in the Jardin Public (the Rosa Bonheur statue, the Ulysses one and finally the Venus one). You yourself can take part in preserving this heritage.
