Brand-new and beautiful!
Last 14 July (right on Bastille Day), the restaurant "Temps à Nouveau" opened on place Mondésir in Bordeaux Caudéran. In a modern, friendly and carefully designed setting, we took a seat to test this brand-new venue. The room's design is modern and radiates a certain fluidity, as the ring-shaped layout wraps around central pillars that create intimacy while showing off an impressive wine collection.
It is beautiful, well thought out, and everything is designed to whet your appetite.
An inspired cuisine that invites you to let go.
Yes, on the cuisine side, you let yourself be carried away, the dishes are that good and refined. You are seduced by the colours and by these authentic seasonal preparations. A cuisine where the heart of the artists at the stove is very much present. Crafted by Chef Baptiste, a passionate gastronomy lover, and his second Xavier, Vincent (the owner I will tell you about later) made a selection that matches his ambition and surely picked two of the best cooks in Bordeaux, let us not be afraid of the words!
A whirlwind of flavours, colours and textures.
The menu changes every season, and we got to enjoy the summer menu.
There is something for every taste: salmon or foie gras, duck breast or prawns… chocolate fondant, lemon tart, rum baba… The menu fits every palate and offers authentic dishes you rediscover, so strongly do the chefs put their signature on them.
Trained cooks and pastry chefs, the quality of the dishes and desserts that arrived floored us! It is beautiful, tasty… Even the most reasonable of guests would turn into a foodie!
And the wine offer at this restaurant?
And the wine offer, do we even need to bring it up? It is one of the best in Bordeaux. We love Vincent's boldness in his choice of wines and in his food and wine pairings!
Service worthy of the finest palaces.
The waiter was trained in luxury hotels and it shows! He is remarkably elegant and discreet. Attentive, he watches over you and looks after you so you can enjoy a comfy, worry-free moment. Too often we talk about hospitality without really mentioning the people who bring it to life. Here we wanted to make a point of telling you about Tiago, who delivers top-tier service!
And what about the owner?
Vincent is an epicurean… He is your guide as you step into his restaurant. He welcomes you, seats you, accompanies you and gladly chats about his passion for wine, his venue or life in general. Vincent is the conductor of this little world buzzing around to make sure you enjoy a gourmet, delightful moment. Attentive, he takes special care of his guests, you feel it right away… Vincent is one of those people you want as a friend!
As you have read and understood, we loved this restaurant. Both for the quality of what you eat there and the welcome you receive. We let ourselves be carried away as much by the atmosphere as by the people who bring it to life.
