The Victor-Hugo car park was built in the early 60s by Toulouse architects Jean Dauriac and Pierre Laffitte.
Part of an architectural complex including the restructuring of the municipal market and the creation of the Palais des Sports, this car park holds 712 spaces across 7 levels, the top one opening onto the city and its rooftops.

In 1993, during the building's renovation, Bordeaux architect Jean-François Dosso had the idea of creating a distinctive, instantly recognizable sign for this car park. He set a green Jaguar MK1 embedded into the façade overlooking Cours Victor Hugo. To the naked eye, the vehicle looks suspended above our heads and hanging by a thread from gravity's grip. In reality, it sits on the car park's structure itself.
Looking up from the ground, you'll see that the engine was removed from the body to keep it light and reinforce its artistic dimension.
