It was on the 1-year anniversary of this lovely Portuguese fine grocer that the team had the pleasure of discovering Obrigado's world. Alongside the mistress of the place, Carla did us the honor of showing us her products and the world she wanted to build around her lovely Portuguese roots.
An elegant, magnetic shop
Start at the start... When you walk past this shop, you can't not go in. The storefront, the understated and elegant logo... Everything creates a smooth vibe that makes you want to see what treasures are hidden inside.
The stock is generous: food, of course, but also Portuguese products, tableware... A real Ali Baba's cave.
At the center of the shop sits a magnificent table with products laid out on it. Without giving it all away, this table isn't just decoration... We'll come back to that.
A real Ali Baba's cave... Portuguese
In this grocery you'll find what you need to fire up your cravings.
- Savory grocery: Cheeses, Oqopo sardines, cured meats, olive oils, tinned goods...
- Sweet grocery: Honey, tea, jam, treats...
- A cellar: Wines & Beers
- And homemade: items, cakes, soaps...
As you can see, it's all there! Plus the packaging and presentation are top-notch. The tins in particular are beautiful (I never thought I'd say that about a tin...). But that's the reality: Carla has an artist's eye and knows how to showcase the products she loves and wants to share.
Carla is inexhaustible on the origins of her products and makes you want to buy everything.
Discovering flavors straight from Portugal
We tested different products from Obrigado (cured meats, beer, wine...) and were pleasantly surprised by the quality... Our favorite: the cured meats, a delight... We truly feasted.
From product presentation to taste... It's flawless!
Event hosting
I told you we'd come back to that table. Obrigado offers to privatize the space for a time and set a beautiful table with the shop's products. For a moment with colleagues or friends, we thought the idea was great.
You forget you're in a fine grocer's: you're at someone's home, with Carla's lovely smile as a bonus.
What more could you ask!
Yes I know, you have to go and make up your own mind... let us know...
