SOUTHERN CUISINE
In the lovely Sainte Colombe neighbourhood in Bordeaux, you will find this little gem of southern gastronomy, welcomed by the charming Fanny and Simon!
But first a question: do you know Fernand and Paulette? You know, the ice-cream trike bar you may have spotted by the Miroir d'eau, for instance? Well, that is them, and they are opening a restaurant.
The drawing studio once run by Simon's dad has now turned into a restaurant. A construction photo album proves it, and it is fun to browse! The chosen colours and mood are soft and invite you to travel. The layout is well thought out: from the entrance to the back of the room (perfect for groups) via the bar, the details invite you to be curious (wine bottles on one side, Nomad-labelled beers, photos, mirrors). Everything is well designed! Bravo for the decor.
Of course you snack, lunch and dine there, but you also brunch there, and I cannot wait to try. The setting and the vibe seem perfect.
In the meantime, I got to taste the falafels, the baby squid and other vegetables and southern dishes. Everything was tasty, so I just invite you to go and tell me what you think.
I noticed a wine list picked with care, but I would lie if I said I tasted any bottles. In afterwork mode, I fell for the Gin Martini cocktail! So, next time!
