Bordeaux, City of Art and History, is preparing to welcome a new attraction to its rich cultural heritage: the Museum of Illusion. After seducing global metropolises like New York, Dubai, Paris and Lyon, it's the sleeping beauty's turn to fall for illusion magic.
Illusion within everyone's reach
Located in the lively Mériadeck district, steps from downtown, the Museum of Illusion opens to the public on 4 October 2023. For the impatient: tickets are already available on their official site.
Why so much enthusiasm around this museum? Simply because it plunges us into a world where real and imaginary merge. Visitors are invited to interact with 70+ illusions, from world-famous classics to exclusive creations shown for the first time in Bordeaux.
Illusion: art, science and entertainment
The Museum of Illusion's originality lies in blending art and science. Behind each illusion hides a rational, scientific explanation showing how our brain works and our perception mechanisms. Not just entertainment, but also an invitation to reflect and learn.
The experience is also resolutely interactive. Visitors can try many activities, from walking on a ceiling to visiting an infinite room and taking photos in sets defying physics laws.
Why Bordeaux?
The question deserves asking. Steven Carnel, director of Museum of Illusion France, highlights Bordeaux's rich artistic heritage and cultural dynamism to justify the choice. "We can't wait to share this extraordinary experience with Bordeaux residents and visitors, and contribute to this magnificent city's cultural blooming," he says.
And having tested it in Paris not long ago, we can say: HUGE!
