BORDEAUX CONFIDENTIEL

Les Taquineries de Marie

SHOPPING

Today I want to tell you about another spot for a cut-off, a quick lunch with the girls, or a tea-time solo or in company.

This adorable, slightly girly spot just blew out its first candle. It serves crazy-good pastries and stretches long and narrow, Bordeaux-style, on cours d'Albret. I give you Les Taquineries de Marie!

At Les Taquineries you'll find viennoiseries, bread, sandwiches, savory croissants, savory tarts, pastries and cookies. Everything is made every day in the workshop at the back.

It's indulgent, fresh, tasty. The combinations are often really original and I say bravo. Don't drag your feet though. At Les Taquineries, for the sake of freshness, they produce in small quantities... The fruit juices are quality and local, the tea comes from La Diplomate and the coffee from L'Alchimiste.

How to put it? At certain hours I prefer to avoid cours d'Albret, since I have no willpower with this kind of place... My cravings and my hunger have been satisfied every time at Les Taquineries de Marie.

The decor at Les Taquineries invites you to sit and unplug, whether for a cup of tea and a pastry of course (don't give me that look, we'll walk back to the office) or a quick lunch. The girls welcome you with a smile and that alone is already lovely. They'll advise you too, even the indecisive ones! It was funny: when I went in for the photos, there were two retired English tourists totally out of context, commenting a bit grumpily. Anyway, the neighborhood stops by regularly: office workers, groups of friends, and the mini gourmands also swing through for cookies and financiers.

Light-wood tables, chairs, lamps and cushions echo Scandinavian hygge. You can watch the rain fall and savor your tea, no one will bother you. On sunny days, your purchases travel to the nearby parks (don't forget to use the paper bag for your trash, please).

I'm telling you, you feel good at Les Taquineries. Long life to you, girls!
