A lovely, almost confidential spot given the layout of the restaurant.
In May 2019, Isabelle and Thierry settled in Bordeaux, looking for a spot to make their dream come true: opening their own restaurant. And yet both come from a well-established family of Parisian restaurateurs, but the sea-air breeze of Bordeaux pulled them to the South-West.
They made the right call.
The restaurant vibe is simply cosy and stripped-back. The decor is minimalist and elegant.
I love this entrance that invites you to sit down without asking. But no, let yourself be drawn down the corridor that opens onto a counter and, at the end, the kitchen where you can guess Chef Thierry at work.
Isabelle, his wife, on the welcome, invites us to step forward.
The room, with its almost jungle-like decor, makes you feel good.
We were lucky enough to enjoy mild weather still at the start of autumn, so we had lunch in the patio. The charm, the intimacy and the atmosphere open your appetite.
On the menu we read veal sweetbreads. Mazel tov! We love veal sweetbreads and in Bordeaux we had not yet found good ones.
I taste the hake fillet finely cooked with a lightly aniseed espuma.
We try the local beer "l'effet papillon", very aromatic, a superb find.
I try a Sancerre with perfect minerality to go with my fish.
The dessert simply exquisite.
