Lunch with my friend, a mid-May Monday as grey as a January Monday, and our mood shows it. Never mind, for a change, we decide to grab a bite on the quays. Next stop, FOOD du GOÛT (actual stop? CAPC, or Quinconces, whichever you like).
Right, thanks rain, once again we will not enjoy the tangy-coloured terrace and the view is blocked by a huge cruise thing… of all times, when I was not taking away for the office! Anyway.
She picks a bowl with tofu, and I go for the sea bowl with smoked haddock, with a shared dessert: the ultra-moist apple cake for me. Guaranteed treat, colourful and healthy, what more could you ask?
Previously, I had also had a big crush on the vegan bowl with chickpea curry, hummus, courgettes, quinoa, kasha and leek fondue, spicy and tasty as I like.
Food du Goût thought of small, medium and big appetites with its different sets, but whatever you pick, you are guaranteed to find products from responsible farming.
Original and varied, the bowls are fresh, the flavours prove it. If the regular sizes are already generous, there is also an XXL bowl: no doubt, I am unlikely to ever take that one on…
The desserts, honestly, are pure indulgence, the stomach already well filled by the bowl. Pssst, the strawberry, mint-basil soup is irresistible.
Practical side, the room is not big but bright and well laid out, and with sunny days coming, the terrace will finally get used, especially with the quays right next door… Careful, faithful to the end to its eco-friendly logic, FOOD du GOÛT does not offer traditional tableware or water carafes. Here, water is charged 1€: unlimited, Abatilles water paired with cucumber and mint for a detox effect.
PS: Food du Goût also offers sweet breaks and boards for after-work drinks, but I have not (yet) tried them…
