There's an exhibition on right now, until August 29, you can't miss if you love STREET ART. At La Cité du Vin, a temporary show titled: DRINKING WITH THE GODS.
I'll tell you everything!
The exhibition
Around fifty pieces (vases, sculptures, objects...) that tell stories, among others, about Dionysus, god of the vine and wine (you quickly get that it was better to be on his side...) and our 3 famous contemporary creations.
3 takes on these Greek myths offered to visitors
3 current but different takes on the ancient myths, from @monkeybirdcrew, @rouge.hartley and @delphine.delas. 3 initiatory steps to share these 3 artists' visions of these fabulous, fantastical myths.
Step 1: MONKEY BIRD
MonkeyBird illustrates the Myth of Ampelos (lover of Dionysus whose death gives birth to the vine and wine) through stencil work, foregrounds and backgrounds, plays of light. A huge favorite.
Step 2: DELPHINE DELAS
Delphine Delas tells you, through 3 elements (a boat's prow, a large mural and a tapestry), of Dionysus's travels around the world.
Step 3: ROUGE
Rouge offers a vision of the Dionysian festivals through cut paper strips showing the current map of Athens slowly consumed by plant motifs. Work lit and scored by Thomas Sillard.
This exhibition has surprises in store and plenty of wonder. You're going to love it.
Careful, I'll say it again: it's a temporary show, so you have until August 29 to head to La Cité du Vin and admire this stunning exhibition.
