BORDEAUX CONFIDENTIEL

THE SAINT-MICHEL BASILICA

MUST-SEE

The SAINT-MICHEL BASILICA is dedicated to Saint Michael, one of the main saints of the Catholic Church. A place of worship par excellence, this basilica holds a striking quirk, since its bell tower is separate from the rest of the building. And that's not its only secret...

Built between the 14th and 16th centuries in a Flamboyant Gothic style. The architectural richness of this building is without doubt an incredible feat of finesse and construction mastery.

Listed as a historic monument in 1846, the Saint-Michel church - which became a minor basilica in 1903 - has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1998 under the Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle routes in France.

No doubt, a place to visit that holds plenty of surprises and wonders.
