Stuck on a Tuesday?
This clock is probably the most familiar. It sits on the southern façade of the Porte Saint-Éloi, under the Grosse Cloche.
An inseparable element placed above its solar equation dial, it was installed in 1759, and its mechanism was restored using the movement by Gaston-Jean Guigan installed in 1912. Its graduated half-moon pediment makes it a one-of-a-kind.
While the clock works perfectly, the « date » function has been stuck on a Tuesday in June for quite a while… and, for whatever reason, it has never been repaired… for now…
