And about time... If the ice rink gave Bordelais access to shows both diverse and varied, the acoustics and environment weren't right for most performances. That's what the ARENA fixes, among other things.
A magnificent venue, architecturally impressive from outside, it feels 'human-scale' once inside and yet I'm talking about 10,000 seats, making it a really reasonable-sized venue.
Opened in January 2018, the ARENA is a venue firmly rooted in the 21st century whose acoustics are pretty amazing.
It took nearly two years to get this project out of the ground. We owe this striking, futuristic shape to architect Rudy Ricciotti (winner of the National Grand Prize for Architecture in 2006). Ambitious, modern and appealing. The ARENA takes part in modernizing Bordeaux and fully fits the new face our city is gradually taking on.
The ARENA is a favorite, tested and approved by the "Bordeaux Confidentiel" Team.

A magnificent venue with pretty exceptional acoustics, letting you be fully immersed in pure, powerful sound. We loved its design, very futuristic, clean and feminine, and if we skip the catering part (yeah, on that one they could have done better!), it's a clean sheet.
The ARENA will fulfill your show cravings, I'm sure. Just a tip, arm yourself with patience to leave the parking; getting in is no problem, but getting out is another story.
In short, aside from a few hiccups that are more about the surroundings than anything else, the ARENA is a success. Bravo!
