Stray cats find a cozy temporary home and cat lovers a sweet, cuddly oasis at the heart of Bordeaux, thanks to Pierrette, Marc and Jolan's initiative. These three friends opened the city's first adoption cat café, "Les Ronrons des Chartrons", located at 16 quai de Bacalan.
An innovative concept: the cat bar to adopt from
The cat bar concept isn't new, but "Les Ronrons des Chartrons" revolutionizes it by letting stray cats find a loving home. Here, customers can not only relax and interact with cats, but also adopt one. The three friends set up foster family contracts with local animal protection associations, letting them offer up to 7 cats for adoption simultaneously.
Vegetarian and vegan tea room: a delicious experience for all tastes
Beyond saving cats, this bar also offers a real feast for the taste buds. Serving exclusively vegetarian and vegan dishes, "Les Ronrons des Chartrons" offers savory croque-monsieur, with quiches and soups planned soon. Customers can also enjoy homemade pastries and cakes, while sipping artisan teas and coffees, all in a warm, welcoming vibe.
The bar's decor, a 53 m² space seating 20 customers, recalls afternoons at grandma's. Mismatched vintage decor, paired with the cats' reassuring presence, creates a cozy, soothing atmosphere. The most iconic board games of our childhood are available self-service to round out this nostalgic vibe.
