The Promenade Sainte-Catherine opened in 2015 on a former industrial wasteland, and since then, has become a central spot for shopping, urban culture and relaxation in Bordeaux. To celebrate its 10 years, the center will live a special moment on October 3 and 4, 2025 with a free festive program, « Promenade en fête », orchestrated to gather all Bordelais around activities, music, shops and surprises.
Program: activities, shows and festive vibe
The essentials:
- Friday October 3, from 4 pm to midnight, celebrations begin with an opening night: DJ sets (Nick The Funk, Omega 3, DJ Buttch), spectacular artistic performances like the vertical ballet by Tango Nomade company, urban dance with Cie Rêvolution, visual shows (giant bubbles, photobooth, temporary tattoos, kids' makeup) and a guinguette vibe around food & cocktails.
- Saturday October 4, special day from 10 am to 8 pm: activities for all ages, shows, artistic zipline performance, workshops, gift wheel (100% winning), exclusive shop offers, surprises all day.
- Beforehand, a festive run organized with Decathlon is planned for Wednesday October 1 to launch the festivities.
What makes this celebration special is first that it's free, open to all - residents, families, visitors - turning Promenade Sainte-Catherine into a popular, accessible gathering spot; from the redone decor for the occasion to the awaited return of « Umbrella Sky », the vibe will be colorful, festive, made of guinguette, cocktail bars, surprise decorations, and even an XXL birthday cake as a joyful symbol of these ten years (all visible from Friday night); finally, the place itself is loaded with meaning: rue Sainte-Catherine is one of Europe's longest pedestrian shopping streets, 1.25 km long, a street mixing shops, urban event garlands, walks, life moments since 2015 - this Promenade embodies at once commerce, relaxation, culture in the heart of Bordeaux
The Promenade Sainte-Catherine's 10-year celebration is much more than a birthday: it's a manifesto of living urbanism, a collective celebration where commerce, show, music and warmth mix. It's the chance to rediscover a familiar spot in a new light, meet friends, make discoveries, and feel Bordeaux keeps inventing its life spaces.
