L'Eau de Bordeaux is an exceptional perfume whose essence unfolds in an original, singular story right in the wine capital: Bordeaux. But what's the sweet madness of wanting to create an "Eau de Bordeaux" in the world capital of wine?
It's the original idea of Madame Favreau-Cerrato, creator of an exceptional fragrance.
A childhood cradled in fragrances
Go back to Micheline's childhood to understand her passion for perfume and her wish to create a unique, exceptional scent. Cradled in her perfumer parents' world, Micheline wanted her own fragrance. Her father used to blend her a perfume with water and Eau de Cologne extract in a lovely Baccarat pear-shaped bottle... The first stones of an amazing perfume were laid.
In 1974, as a wedding gift, her parents give her a perfumery: la Parfumerie de l'Opéra, place Tourny in Bordeaux.
A traditional perfumery at first, Micheline shifted the business from traditional perfumery to confidential brands (niche brands whose distribution volumes are also confidential). Offering unique fragrances is what gave Micheline the urge to bring another Bordeaux proposition.
That's how Parfumerie de l'Opéra became a shop for exceptional brands.
Creating L'Eau de Bordeaux
In 2006, after a year's work with the help of a nose from Grasse, Micheline finally reconnects with her Proustian madeleine, the smell of her childhood. She creates a unisex fragrance under the name L'Eau de Bordeaux, an original, refined and elegant perfume: Eau de Bordeaux.
The notes rest on a classic hesperidic base. Citrus freshness: bergamot, lemon, orange or mandarin... layered with white floral notes on a base of musk, cedarwood and a hint of vetiver.
