A Family Story

In May 2001, the Decoster Family from Limoges, former owner of the renowned Haviland porcelain house, acquired the wine estate in the Bordeaux region.

Learning the winemaker's craft and the owners' relentless work led them in 2006 to obtain the Holy Grail: Fleur Cardinale becomes Grand Cru Classé!

Almost 20 years passed between Limoges porcelain and the Saint-Émilion vineyard. 20 years during which the Decoster Family perfected its production tool investing in innovative technologies while respecting environmental values.

A devouring passion that faced some hurdles set by Mother Nature (frosts...) but only reinforced the desire to obtain a unique, powerful wine.

An initiatory tour

Recently opened, Caroline Decoster gave us the preview to discover the new Cellar and the universe she designed for visitors. From family history to tasting time, an experience where the visitor travels through time and sensations (sounds, lights). We move with her and rise (both literally and figuratively) toward Fleur Cardinale's spirit and the discovery of this magnificent terroir.

Caroline is fascinating, we almost felt like family! Teaching, patient, she accompanies us through her family's adventure. This new Cellar and its sensory experience is a gift for the visitor.

No spoil here, we won't give all details but this is the first time we do this kind of cellar tour. The vibe and details, like the phrases from Souleymane Diamanka, incredibly talented slam poet... TOP!

So, what about the 2020 vintage?

We had the luck to discover the 2020 vintage promising an excellent future for Château Fleur Cardinale. A dense, deep robe, a powerful nose of ripe fruits and subtle floral notes. Supple, its mouth hold is long. A powerful and subtle wine at once. Must we add that we loved it?
