No 36,000 ways to say it, but one part of the team, for a weekend, "got sent flying"...
So I'll tell you...
A while ago we booked a flight over Bassin d'Arcachon via Wingly (a booking platform giving you flights at clever prices). So it was with some excitement that we showed up at Bordeaux-Léognan-Saucats airfield to board a CESSNA 172C armed with our best smiles and massive courage.
After the usual "checks", takeoff happens in seconds. At nearly 260 km/h, we discover the Bassin d'Arcachon like we'd never seen it.
From up there everything takes another dimension, the Pyla Dune is impressive and at some 1,000 feet, we can even watch people climbing its slopes. We fly over the bay, then Île aux Oiseaux and its cabins nearby.
Colors, relief are incredible. We rediscover our region with some emotion.
The flight lasts about 1h and I can assure you it goes really fast. Even if the cabin is small, we're comfortable in this CESSNA and start-of-flight apprehension quickly gave way to unrestrained enthusiasm.
