Some pop-up stores look alike... then there are those that announce themselves as true artistic interludes. From December 12 to 14, at 12 rue du Temple in Bordeaux, Shali sets up for three days an ephemeral jewel dedicated to art ceramics, a rare chance to meet an artist whose work, at the crossroads of sculpture, tableware and light, leaves no one indifferent. This exceptional opening, announced as a Christmas pop-up on the official flyer, promises an immersion in a world entirely hand-crafted, where each piece carries the trace of a gesture, a story and authentic know-how.
Shali: an artist, a story, a territory
Behind Shali is Véronique Le Buffe Theault, an artist whose path never settled for a single medium. First a painter, exhibited in Morocco, the West Indies and Paris, she then turned to sculpture, before finding in art ceramics a way to reconcile matter, texture and light (three axes that have become her signature).
Now based on the Arcachon Bay, she creates unique pieces inspired by two major sources of her imagination:
- The sea, everywhere in its textures, its ripples, its organic shapes
- Horses, whose silhouettes and silent power run through some emblematic pieces.
This intimate link to the living and to movement runs through every creation: nothing is frozen, everything seems to breathe.
A hand-crafted world, between poetry and fire mastery
Shali's work is immediately recognizable. Her pieces, sculptures, decorative objects, lamps, tableware, are all shaped in her workshop using artisanal techniques that favor:
- contrasting textures,
- plays of shadow and light,
