After settling into a zen-toned cabin, the massage began with a gong bath followed by a long scalp massage.
Initially unsettling (but when is she going to move to the rest of my body, I'm knotted everywhere?!), this scalp massage is actually meant, as I eventually understood, to work on meridians to identify the areas to treat next. So yes, La Maison du Tui Na has no medical vocation, and yet… After each of the massages I've done, the masseuse's comments always hit spot-on regarding my physical/mental state on arrival...
On the decor side, the vibe is hushed. Everything breathes the zenness of Asia. Even though cabins are neighboring, not a sound passes through the walls. Here, you'll enjoy absolute quiet during your massage: no ringing phone, no untimely break to go do this or that, no, here the masseuse dedicates herself to your massage from start to finish in complete calm.
Sure, the massages have a cost, but reduced to cost-per-minute, they're often less expensive than elsewhere for markedly higher quality. I've never tried the anti-cellulite or anti-aging massages, but the ones I've done have always given me deep relief, both physical and mental.
So, you'll understand after 4 or 5 tries, I confirm and echo C.'s words: La Maison du Tui Na's massages bring me deep muscular and mental relaxation, I actually come out so stoned that I need to sit for a few minutes to recenter or gather my wits, if you prefer. After that, I find positive energy again, I feel good.
